went to watch "kill bill vol 2" in the afternoon with tino and well its a cool flick, wasn't half as bloody as vol 1 and had some needless parts which i felt were just there to feed the market. ending was kinda surprising in the way and more or less expected that the hero (in this case heroine) wins. then went to play at ph then off to cine to catch a rather interesting movie called "elephant" with grace. its abt the high school shootings and comprises of shooting from each character's view so some scenes you see like 2-3 times..mildly draggy at times but deep and chilling.

just like butterfly effect, which i watched the DvDrip on mon :P yet another haunting movie with lots of thoughts. this one left me quite deep in thoughts too. things like the sad facts of life. if a guy comes up to you with a gun and shoots you, well there's nothing you can do abt it yeah?

go watch "elephant" if you really want to, "butterfly effect" is a must-watch and "kill bill vol2" only if you're into plots of revenge :P

anyways in simpler terms.

fri: played great, team drew 8-8 against ept
sat: played like crap, team drew 9-9 against pck
sun: didn't play, team lost 5-11 to gf

but the big dig is that fri, we were expected to win or draw. sat we were expected to win. and sun we were expected to lose.

saw another cue that caught my eye :P (which is basically a copy of yang ching sun's cue)

i think two big games over two straight days, i just cracked. a big comeback one day and a big setback the next.

i know i screwed up and i'm not afraid to say it.

i think i will try to follow Chris' advice on playing in competitions and work towards it.
1) i dun play against my opponents, i play against myself
2) make every ball count and never let ur opponent back to the table
3) i may not play like efren but if i have his determination and his heart, i may someday play like him or better
4) breathe...
5) never ever give up even if u are 6-1 down in a race to 7

first off, i think yesterday there was a slight misunderstanding, although my friend did ask me stay out of the job thing i guess its ok. i'll find sth somehow cuz today they went for the interview and were told that from now till mid-may they would only work 1 day per week and then after that they would prob be slotted in for more days. so i guess good for them lorh. no hard feelings. i'll cancel yesterday's comments after i'm done with this.

secondly, i think i've just experienced the biggest comeback ever in my pool life. today, we had a match against ept. losing this would mean we would prob finish no lower than 5th and no higher than 4th. went into the match against a very strong line-up. and i guess it affected us mentally.

although benny got the first frame, by the 1st quarter we were down 1-3. galvin didn't really get a touch on the ball and i was a bundle of nerves, even my capt couldn't seem to get the rolls. 2nd quarter, and i won the only rack in it. (against jackson *MUHAHAHAHA should have seen his eyes go boggy when i cut the 11 in and perfect position for the 14) so end of 2nd quarter, we were 2-6 down. 3rd quarter was slightly better with galvin and james winning against their opponents and giving them a run for their money, 4-8.

that's when i said to all of them, that if we won all 4 racks in this quarter, it would be the greatest comeback we've ever seen. and guess what it did happen :D
-- first rack, benny was up against jackson. didn't take very long to send him packing ^^
-- then galvin against zhenjie, which was a game of chicken haha..pressure was mounting on both sides, and finally it took a great shot to the next step of escape.
-- then it was me against eugene, (who btw has quite a record) he broke and scratch in the top right pocket and i went for stripes (9 in the left side pocket), then i then tried to cheat the pocket for the 13 but my shot was full in the face and i was stuck in the jaws of the top left pocket. played a safety on the 11, leaving cueball on the rail but he elected to go for a long shot on the 1 (which he made, beautiful shot!) and then straight on the 6 (which i thot he was out of position for) he confirmed my doubts when he started to address the cb with high left. just as he was stroking before he hit the shot, galvin said this to james, "i hope he does sth crazy like pot the black". as though he heard galvin (which i'm sure he couldn't have, cuz i didn't hear him either) he hit the 6 and two things happened. one, the 6 rocketed in. two the cb hit the 8 and the 8 went right in as well. incredible! :P so now the scores were 7-8 and we needed the last rack to hold for the draw.
-- james was up against anthony and it was anthony's break, he broke, made a ball and ran 3 balls before missing. james came on and ran 3 balls and then left himself hooked. he played a safety, anthony got out of it made the next 3 balls and missed on the last one. james took the ball in hand made a ball and then incredibly missed the 5. anthony made his ball, then galvin said that he hoped anthony would scratch on that shot, and he did scratch leaving the 8 on the table and ball in hand for james. james then made the 1 and over ran the position for the 5. he had to use a bridge to stun the cb out. (lol you could see his hands shaking from the tension) he made the shot and perfect position for the 8. potted the 8 and the comeback was complete.

unbelievably we managed to take all 4 games to tie the score at 8-8. thank God for that. like i believe without Him i wouldn't have won my racks or that my team would have drawn.

feelin so high now :P and when i went fong seng for supper the police tried to give out summons hahaha.. saw the pple just rush out to clear their cars away rofles. made for good entertainment before my food came.

match tmrw against pck and i hope to win at least 3 out of 4 of my racks (though i wanna win all 4! :P )

feel kinda pissed, betrayed and a tinge of hopelessness.

first off, that old fogey has not paid me a single cent, i'm expecting ard 400-600 but he can only pay a 100 next week *rolls eyes. once i'm paid in full i'm quitting, dun see the pt of working for someone who goes back on his promises, leaves work lying ard for me to clear up the mess that he creates and get paid peanuts in the end.

secondly, i cannot believe it, but like i need a job to keep me occupied. so like when two of my friends got sth that could be shared amongst the 3 of us, one of them has to tell me to stay out. fook. i take that back and apologise, it worked out for good in the end :)

thirdly, i need cash and need to find ways to earn cash and having a friend tell me to stay out when he doesn't need the cash is really kinda dumb. yes i'm pissed off.

am still up when i gotta wake up ard 10 tmrw. so guess kinda works out. not really watchin the match and stuff. and talkin to a couple of pple on msn.

was up at 8 to go to mambo1 to spar with louis, that turned out to be a whipping haha..i got whitewashed. i think 13-6 :P nvm good lesson, hate table 4 at m1 but owells its free pool :D

then went to ph to meet up with W. dumb man. agreed on a race to 7 for 20 but then after i beat him 7-0 (while playing half-crap pool -- i never ran more than 3 balls -.-) he claimed he never heard that we're playing for the 20 even though i triple-confirmed it with him and he agreed. talk abt poor sportsmanship. next time i play him i'm gonna ask him to post it up first. fustrating playing against someone who doesn't take things seriously (talking non stop to that 'business partner'of his) and then doesn't pay up. fook!

went to gf straight after that, though i was supposed to go back to m1 to look at syt, met galvin there (he wanted to get the lucasi jump -- but its warped =X) and benny had to rush off. played a doubles game with galvin against weiloong (sp?) and dennis and won :P then another variation where everyone has only 1 shot (eg. you hit the shot and if you pot it, your partner comes up to take the next shot so you must place the ball for your partner) FUN FUN! =D dennis and wl had a 4-2 lead then we came from behind and won it 5-4 :) then paired up with wl and played galvin and another hsb guy and lost haha after coming back from a 1-3 deficeit to draw 3-3 then they won the next and we tied it after that only to lose the deciding rack. owells was fun and i can say i tried my best :D

tmrw still got another training session with benny :P

dr raymond saxe quite sth :) haha really learnt a thing or two from the msg. then went to help and follow esther to get a present for her xiaodi and boy oh boy do i have a phobia of going shopping with girls haha..

like most of them seem to although have decided to buy sth somehow wander off to look at something else then realise what they came to get, then like if they ask you which one to get, it doesn't matter cuz they've decided already! :P and well that sums it up for now..and i'll bet that she'll kill me after she sees this :P

then went to collect my pay and met eugene (quikz) before that, talked abt his plans of being the first sg team to play bf1942 in cpl. admire his dedication to his cause. kudos and all the best to your endeavours dude. :)

benny bought his hybrid shaft and is hitting great. haha..and we ooh-ed and aah-ed at the bushka models (gb and joss) and the mezz sp and jnb. haha..! adapting and learning as i go along. gonna be hittin them better when the p2 comes (think i said that twice already) but can't wait!!~

haven't been regular updating this. sometimes i just dun feel like typing anything anymore.

been trying to get my stroke back and some of it is coming back, changing the different elements of it, bit by bit slowly, slowly. the p2's coming next week i hope. so should be hitting 'em better. heard the team lost to hsb 11-5 last nite and that it was quite bad. owells. guess some days you're hot and some days you're not. played with charles and anthony at m1 in the afternoon, lost to charles 2-5 but i blame it on the table :P (wierd la that table, the cloth faster than the cushions) then played anthony on a more "correct" table (askin and gettin the 8 and the breaks) and won 5-4. actually it was more like he give chance, he was up 4-1 and lookin it and then he just decided to give it to me. lol..no idea why, maybe someone was clocking him.

went to theQshop after that with louis, saw the new items he had, like the buska!! (model gb-5) haha..apart from that the jump-break from mezz still looks damn good, as well as the sneaky pete. too bad both or all of it is outside my budget.

team secretz withdrew from the competition yesterday when we were scheduled to have another match with them. so well free 6 pts for us. :) also played with chris yesterday and besides being good and confining me to my chair. he brought up all my weak pts and all my problem areas. sighh guess i got a lot to improve on. things like punching thru, staying down, followthrough, strength control, choice of shots and position play, things that i've got to work on.

so today watched team hsb beat uob and played a lot with benny again. yesterday and the first part of today was quite bad. i couldn't get my shots right and get position but after dinner it was much better i was running balls slightly more and my position and strength control was more there. also changed the way i held the cue. and somehow it worked. so will work more on it tmrw at mambo, meetin jq and owen there too.

like i was a bit pissed by the comments i read from the pf forum and from sth else. my friend won the btpf student open 8 ball challenge and is really quite fat. but he's good and he has put in hard work over time and it works. yes, i can't stand pple who discriminate against someone cuz they can't believe that becuz of his size he can't do this or that. pple who talk to much and can't do it so just shut up honestly.

opponents walked over today so didn't do much but played a race to 7 with alex for a drink which i won 7-5. too many careless mistakes. having the same problems sometimes like rushing the shot, missing the aiming point, and overcompensating! oh the woe of going back to a 314. at least the position play is getting slightly better. have to work on the game more. prob do some drills on mon or sth to get back in shape or tmrw that is.

match against the same team tmrw. hope they dun walkover and waste our time. hmfph.

beat louis 3 times in 3 days. twice on tues 5-3, 5-3 and today 5-2. can't say i played well but at least it was some semblance of where i want to be.

sold the kaiser, playing and breaking with the bk. back to being a one cue player.

oh and i saw the mezz sneaky pete and jump break. the sneaky pete is really quite nice but i dun think it can pass off for one. but its really very nice! haha..the jump break..well very pretty and the hit is solid and the feedback well..leaves a bit more to be desired..it however has a stainless steel (?) ferrule which i feel is the reason for the power but well for 640 its way too pricey. for that price, i'd rather get a sledgehammer.

morning had soccer and benny you're good! bluff me say you lousy at soccer! haha.. quite shagged..haven't been playing and out in the sun. shows how unfit i am!

afternoon was the ept tour stop #19 at mspf. game was 9 ball race to 4. and guess who i had to play of all pple. yes..dennis, jackson, matthew..all whom i played last nite -.- didn't play to my best. also had to play yamhouse. so the results were like this, 3-4 dennis (got luck no form, i was leading 3-1 then he caught up all the way), 4-0 yamhouse (poor guy i had a break-clear *first in 1.5 mths! =) ---thanks for keepin the faith in me, smalliez* and a break plant next rack, no chance for him, that was got form got luck), then 0-4 jackson (who was definitely much better than yesterday, more confident and stroking better. then is got luck no form), then the worst game of the week vs matthew 3-4 (went hill hill with him and lost on a dumb 9 ball cut which i knew i could pot under normal circumstances. besides that he fluked the 9 twice -.- and it got to me i guess) next time i will be better, i promise you. i will work towards it.

then followed anthony down to btpf to watch him play in the 8 ball student's open which he won. and that i loaned him my bk to use. so i got a free dinner from there and then met my small one and sent her home.

now in discussion to be a partner in this great idea of a pool hall. lvl 1-walk in pro-shop (entrance to pool hall) with a cafe and some of the leisure tables. then lvl 2 would be the more serious tables for the serious players. fits everyone's liking. in the works are 20 9ft tournament tables with 5 of them gold crowns with box lights, 4 snooker tables, 3 7ft, 3 8ft tables for the casual ones. sounds really good so i'm trying to help him out and try to be a partner as well.

woooo drew against ept 8-8. contented and thanking God for the excellent result even though a part of me feels we could have won. i however feel the team (swee chuan, galvin, alex, myself) played above par. my defensive game was sth that amazed even myself. now i see 8 ball in a much different light. ^^

could have won all 4 games but in the end mistakes and nervousness took the better of me. managed to take two games though. i think my best rack was when i was behind by abt 5 balls and having balls in bad positions. some 'luck' and safeties reduced the disadvantage and then when tied at two balls each at a 4 ball cluster, i had a ball in hand. contemplating my options, i had a) safety - pot the 11 and leave the cue ball behind the 1 and the 4, b) safety - pot the 11 with a bit of draw and knock the 4 into the 1 to form a cluster and knock the 12 out leaving him dead snookered to his balls with no shot, c) clear table - pot the 11 with a little bit of right side draw to knock the 1 ball away. i chose c) in the end and ran out. thank God :)

anyways tmrw match vs uob is postphoned to monday night. i don't wanna play haha..cuz its a match we can't afford to lose. if we wanna finish 3rd at least (our current standings are that we'll finish no lower than 5th and no higher than 3rd --- unless sth miraculous happens!)
